IEEE is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE's highly cited publications, conferences,technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

IEEE UMIT’s student chapter, initiated in 1999 with just 44 members is a rapidly growing community,currently exceeding a count of 100 members.
IEEE UMIT conducts a wide range of events aimed at providing a platform for its student members to interactively widen their network while developing their technical aptitude and inspire a sense of scientific inquisitiveness among them.
IEEE UMIT is a student chapter of Usha Mittal Institute of Technology (SNDT University) which is the only women's engineering college in Mumbai.

This chapter of IEEE was formed in December 1999, when UMIT was known as ITW.The council helps the members in developing technical skills as well as helps them transform into professional individuals, thus preparing them to face the world outside.Today IEEE UMIT has a large count of over 220+ members.
360 DEGREES+ is not only a college festival but also a celebration of technology provided by our technical council IEEE.
The fest provides an insight and knowledge into the digital future.With a footfall over 500 students, it is one of the highlight events of the year.

IEEE Bombay Section has always been fortunate to have dedicated volunteers.The efforts of these volunteers have been recognized by IEEE HQ as well as at others levels.We are thankful for their contribution as well as all those nameless volunteers and hope to continue the same in future.

Women in Engineering

IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) is a global network of IEEE members and volunteers dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists, and inspiring girls around the world to follow their academic interests in a career in engineering and science.

Provide assistance with the formation of new IEEE WIE Affinity Groups and support ongoing activities.
Recognize the outstanding achievements of women in electrical and electronics engineering through IEEE Awards nominations.
Advocate women in leadership roles in IEEE governance and career advancement for women in the profession
Organize workshops at major technical conferences to enhance networking and to promote membership in IEEE WIE.
